Espacio somático. Cuerpos múltiples - María Auxiliadora Gálvez

Architect by the ETSAM and Doctor ofArchitecture since 2012. She is also a landscape architect and teacher of the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education. 

Since 1998 she teaches at the Polytechnic School of the University San Pablo CEU and has been invited to develop various workshops, conferences or postgraduate programmes in places such as Graz, Panama, Milan, Greenwich, Harvard, Hamburg, Nicosia or Buenos Aires. In 2016 she founded the "Plataforma de Somática aplicada a la Arquitectura y el Paisaje". She has been awarded in several national and international competitions, with prizes in the VI, VII and IX editions of Europan. Her work has been published, among others, in the monographic publication Excepto 21. Cartografías Activas and is the author of the books Espacio Somático. Cuerpos Múltiples published in 2019 and DESCAMPADOS. Caminar los paisajes revolucionarios en la ciudad somática (2022). Between 2006 and 2010 she has been Coordinator for Panama within the International Cooperation Programme for Social Housing developed by the Andalusian Regional Government. She is currently working on Architecture and Landscape from an "embodied" point of view and investigates the possibilities of "embodied cognition" and movement in the pedagogy and development of these disciplines, coining the term Somatic Architecture. She is a member of the International Ambiances Network (France), is on the research board of the Centre for Sensory Studies (Canada) and participates in the international project "Navigating Dizziness Together" (Austria).  See more at: www.psaap.com
