Pragmatika

Pragmatism; from praxis, for praxis; practice distilled into knowledge that returns, once again, to practice. Such is the maxim to which the texts in this collection adhere, which find in the current terrain of architectural development the object of their attentive observation and reflection.

The authors, far from getting bogged down in abstract ramblings, find in the actual consequences of things much more valuable information than in the theorisation of their concepts, insofar as they can apply it immediately in their own practice. This method of learning, this constant feedback between practice and its analysis, which constantly pushes for the improvement of the activity, requires four essential qualities: observation, insight, critical spirit and lack of prejudice. Only when they coincide can intelligent practice, which is the pragmatist's greatest endowment, be achieved.
