To the guns! To the brushes! To the cameras! To the pens!

The liberation of art could not wait in Slavic peoples in the first half of the 20th century. Revolution, art and life were the motto of the artistic-political militants of that effervescent era of innovation, energy and comradeship. Exploring the various facets of art, like a cubist painting, artists alike tackled poetry, painting, design, architecture, photography, criticism, theory, literature and sculpture with an unstoppable determination to break with the established order and radically fuse art and life.

This collection of texts, directly translated from the original and mostly unpublished, is the result of the rigorous work of selection, compilation and translation carried out by Dr. Cristian Cámara Outes, a researcher specialising in the theory of literature, aesthetics, philosophy and the Russian avant-garde. Through his words we can get to know more fully, from the individuality of his characters, the panorama of a key historical moment in the development of the culture in which we are still immersed today.
