Writing the texts in this book is like walking along the cantilever of ideas. Ideas that cross fields, valleys and mountains and that with each walk outline the interior topography of what architecture is for me. Wonderful moments occur on these walks, moments of intimate happiness.

On my regular walks I have enjoyed chance encounters with delightful writings by the finest thinkers. Encounters from which I draw many lessons. On these walks it is easy to rediscover the beauty of a landscape full of words and concepts. Deep valleys of ideas that thicken the soul or firm and turgid walls like cliffs that stand before your gaze and that would leave the most stoic of walkers spellbound.
